Announcements

Join us for the Chattanooga 300 event on August 2, 2024, from 7:30-8:30 am.

This longstanding tradition embodies our school's energy and community spirit as we welcome scholars, staff, and families back to campus. The celebration features the ceremonial "walk of honor" from the Sentinel Gymnasium to the Chattanooga Prep School building for 6th-11th grade scholars. This year, we are proud to include our 12th-grade scholars, who will enter their new facility on the second floor of the new school cafeteria.

This event marks the culmination of years of dedicated planning and growth, reflecting our mission to provide a robust and continuous educational pathway for every scholar.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 24-25 school year at Chattanooga Preparatory School! It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you and your scholar to our school community. Whether you are joining us for the first time or are a returning family, we are excited to embark on this educational journey together.

At CPS, we believe that the development of strong character is just as important as academic achievement. Our goal is to BUILD the MEN of TOMORROW.

As we begin this new school year, I would like to highlight a few key areas of focus:

  1. Academic Excellence: Our curriculum is designed to challenge and inspire Scholars. We are dedicated to fostering critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning in every Scholar. Our teachers have been diligently preparing innovative and engaging lessons to ensure a robust educational experience.

  2. Character Development: We are committed to helping our scholars develop strong moral and ethical values. Through our character education programs, scholars will learn about respect, responsibility, integrity, and empathy. We believe these values are the foundation for success in school and in life.

  3. Community and Collaboration: We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is crucial for scholar success. We encourage open communication and invite you to be actively involved in your scholar's education. Whether through volunteering, attending school events, or participating in parent-teacher conferences, your involvement is invaluable.

  4. Student Well-being: The well-being of our scholars is a top priority. We offer a variety of support services, including counseling, that promote social and emotional learning. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where every scholar feels valued and respected.

  5. Extracurricular Opportunities: We offer a diverse range of extracurricular activities to complement our academic programs. From sports and arts to clubs and special interest groups, there are many ways for scholars to explore their interests and talents.

Please mark your calendars for our Open House on September 5, 2024 at 6:00- 7:30. This event will provide an opportunity to meet your scholar's teachers, learn more about the curriculum, and ask any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you there.

As we move forward into this school year, please know that my door is always open. Should you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, do not hesitate to reach out. Together, we can ensure a successful and fulfilling year for your scholar.

Thank you for entrusting us with your scholar's education. I am confident that, with your support, this will be a wonderful year of growth, achievement, and character development for all our scholars.

Warmest regards,

Diamond Kelley
CPS Principal

About Our School

Chattanooga Preparatory School is an all-boys public charter school that opened its doors to students in August 2018. Located in historic Highland Park and close to downtown Chattanooga, we are positioned to provide a unique and impactful educational opportunity for the young men in our urban communities. Our city has a boundless capacity for innovation, transformation, and economic prosperity. Unfortunately, these opportunities are not accessible for all members of our community, especially young men in urban core neighborhoods who are disproportionately impacted by poverty and educational inequity. We deeply and firmly believe that all students, regardless of background or zip code, have gifts and talents that may be cultivated, encouraged, and affirmed by intentional and transformative education. The families and young men of Chattanooga deserve greater opportunity and choice. Our aim is to inspire, empower, and educate the men of tomorrow in the hopes that their successes will create generational change within our communities.
